Find Fairy's belongings in My Beautiful Faraway
Fairy needs one boot, a bag and a separate packet of cigarettes. Search the forest's center as well as its edge, then return all three before the bar meeting.
Fairy needs one boot, her bag and a packet of cigarettes in the My Beautiful Faraway demo. All three pickups are in the forest around her. Search the interior as well as its outer edge; circling the boundary alone can miss the remaining items. Bring the complete set back, finish her conversation, then meet her outside the bar. Entering the bar is one of the demo's stopping points.
Demo guide · Updated October 5, 2026. Item names and quest completion are shown in two public demo playthroughs. Precise map coordinates have not been confirmed.

Start Fairy's request
Find the woman resting in the forest and speak with her. Continue the conversation until she asks you to recover her things. She names three separate objects: a boot that came off, a missing bag, and cigarettes that fell out. This is a collection task, so finding the most visible object does not finish it.
The early conversation is awkward and deliberately indirect. You do not need to interpret every line as a hidden instruction; the practical objective is the three-item request. Once she has told you what is missing, switch your attention to the nearby ground and tree-lined spaces.
Use Fairy herself as the return landmark. Searching without a reference point makes a small gray forest feel larger than it is, especially if you repeatedly turn and cross the same gap between trees. After each pickup, note which direction you came from so that your next search covers a different strip of ground.
Keep a three-item checklist
| Item | What to confirm | Frequent mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Boot | One boot pickup is collected | Searching for a second boot because she is missing footwear |
| Bag | The bag/purse pickup is collected | Returning after finding only the boot |
| Cigarettes | The separate packet is collected | Assuming it is already inside the collected bag |
The cigarettes are a distinct pickup. Collecting the bag does not automatically satisfy that part of the request. In ManlyBadassHero's demo, the player returns after finding the boot and bag, then realizes that the cigarettes are still missing; the task completes only after another search.
You can open the pause menu to check your collected items. Keeping the three names in a short checklist is more effective than trying to decide whether a scattered object resembles something in Fairy's dialogue. If one item is absent, search for that specific shape rather than restarting the whole task from memory.
Search the center, not just the boundary
The Steam belongings discussion describes a player repeatedly walking the forest's outside edge and missing objects closer to its center. That is a useful search correction, rather than a precise location map. Another player in the same thread still struggled after circling both areas, so it should not be read as a promise that a single lap always finds everything.
Make a perimeter pass only once to orient yourself, then cut inward through the forest in short parallel sweeps. At each turn, look back across the ground you have just crossed. This reduces repeated searches of the same outer ring and gives you another angle on objects that blend into the dark ground.
Keep the camera low enough to notice pickups, but look forward periodically to preserve your route back to Fairy. The forest's muted palette makes guessing from a distant silhouette unreliable. Move closer to a suspected object and use the interaction prompt to distinguish a pickup from scenery.
This sweep method is search advice, not a claim about randomized spawns. The available recordings do not establish that the items move between runs. We also do not have verified compass bearings or measured distances, so the guide avoids invented directions such as a fixed number of meters north of Fairy.
Use the video checkpoints when an item stays hidden
For a visual comparison of the search area, ManlyBadassHero finds the boot around 17:32, the bag around 18:01, and completes the collection before returning at 19:27. The recording shows why the cigarettes can be overlooked after the first two objects are found.
PaleMothReviews' forest search starts around 27:23, reaches the bag near 27:51, and spots the cigarettes around 28:11. That second angle is helpful if the first video's route does not resemble the direction you approached from. These timestamps are navigation aids to the recordings, not exact pickup coordinates.
If you have already found the boot, do not spend the next sweep hunting footwear again. Work through the two unchecked names. Likewise, if you have a bag and cigarettes but no completion conversation, verify the boot pickup rather than assuming that the task has silently advanced.
Return the belongings and meet at the bar
With all three items collected, speak to Fairy again. Her response acknowledges the complete set and she asks you to turn around while she pulls herself together. Follow that interaction, then continue the conversation until she suggests meeting at the bar.
The bar meeting is a new conversation stage. Finding all three objects is the forest completion; walking to the bar is the follow-up. If you are still getting dialogue about the missing things, you have not completed the collection stage and should check the inventory before wandering away.
Outside the bar, Fairy explains that she is uneasy about someone inside and asks you to go in with her. Entering takes this branch to the demo's end. If you want to inspect the gas puzzle and water route too, leave the bar entrance until you have finished exploring those tasks.
Is this a romance route or a full ending?
The demo establishes an act of helping Fairy and a follow-up meeting. It does not confirm a romance system, relationship score, specific achievement or final ending tied to the request. The full game's branching story is advertised, but the available opening is not enough to name those branches.
For the order of all opening encounters, use the demo walkthrough. If you are deciding whether to explore the water route first, read the gas pipeline guide. For the scope of the released demo and the planned full game, see demo length, endings and settings.
